Eric and Crystal Sabish

In May 2005 Eric accepted the position as warehouse employee and truck driver. With Eric’s expertise in fixing just about anything needing repair, he quickly moved into a maintenance role. Eric happily takes on the repair challenges and the most recent was rebuilding the soybean Crippen clipper with a new top, walls, gears, pulleys and shafts. He loves the satisfaction of putting all the parts back together and have the machine running smoothly like nothing has changed.

Eric says, “I love working for this company. The customers are always great and friendly to talk with. It can be a highlight of your day to go on a delivery and converse with the customer.”

Eric’s big smile and good morning welcome start the workday on a positive note. “The people and the team atmosphere make me excited to come to work every day,” says Eric. “I enjoy working with the crew of warehouse guys. They all have different personalities and strong traits that make them fun to work with.”

The small farmette that Eric grew up on is not far from the Dairyland Seed office. The family home was a Victorian farmhouse in need of repair and with all hands on deck, Eric’s family worked as a team to remodel the home from inside out and top to bottom. Plaster walls were replaced with drywall, hard wood trim and a cherry spindle staircase were refinished back to its original beauty.

Eric fondly remembers the time spent after school and summers working on neighboring farms raising beef cattle, baling hay and working with his fair animals. Eric was an FFA member for four years and showed steers and sheep at the Washington County Fair. He placed well most years with a few red ribbons and a blue ribbon, but his greatest memory of showing at the fair was the year he won Grand Champion with his steer.

During the summer months you’ll find Eric and his wife riding the open roads on his Harley. As the weather cools, his thoughts turn to hunting. Eric is an avid deer and turkey hunter and hunts in the local area or up north in Lakewood WI near his parent’s home. His favorite hunts are when his wife or kids are successful. He proudly talks about his son’s 8-point buck from the recent youth hunt that will soon be mounted for display at home. An elk hunt trip for he and his wife is on his list for an amazing experience yet to be had.

Eric is one of the founders and current Vice President of the Patriot Riders Wisconsin Chapter 1 – a 501c3 organization that raises money for veterans, their families and veteran causes. Eric, along with his wife who is the Treasurer, organize rides, brats frys and other events for the Patriot Riders. The 40-member group donates 25 percent of their profits to Camp Home Town Heroes, a kids’ camp that helps heal children and teach them how to cope with the loss of one of their parents serving in the military. The camp counsels the children and allows time to talk with others in the same situation.

Eric and his wife Crystal reside in Campbellsport along with their five children. Elizabeth, Kaden, Keagen, Noah and Taylin range in age from 20 years old to 20 months. Other family members include their two Boxers, Harley and Clutch.
