WATCH: How to Assess Alfalfa Stand Value

BY DAIRYLAND SEED

In this video, Branden Furseth, Dairyland Seed northern region agronomist, discusses the status of the 2021 alfalfa crop in northern Wisconsin, as well as how growers can assess the value of their alfalfa stands on a micro and a macro level. Furseth explains micro level value is determined by the number of stems or plants within a square foot of a field, and macro level value is determined by the production goals of the farm.
