The Spread of Tar Spot

A topic of conversation for the last few years in the Dairyland Seed footprint has been tar spot caused by the fungus Phyllachora maydis. The spread of this corn disease has sparked many questions including where it is, what drives infection, and what are the control measures.  Looking at brief answers to these questions can help us better plan for scouting efforts and subsequent management decisions as we look to begin the 2025 crop season.
