Seed Bag Updates: Check the Tags, Not the Bags

BY Dairyland Seed

Your seed bags will look different this year. Starting in spring 2022, all Dairyland Seed products within the same crop will come in the same-colored bag. Bag colors will be used to differentiate between crops. Instead of using separate bags for traited and conventional seed, you will need to read the tag or lip of the bag for specific product and trait information. Crop-specific changes are noted below.

CORN

All traited and conventional corn hybrids will come in a GRAY bag. Conventional hybrid tags will have a green bar at the top and mid-section of the tag that says “CONVENTIONAL.”

SOYBEANS

All traited and conventional soybean varieties will come in a RED bag. Conventional variety tags will have a green bar at the top and mid-section of the tag that says “CONVENTIONAL.”

Non-hybrid ALFALFA

Non-hybrid alfalfa will continue to come in the green panel bag.

Hybrid Alfalfa

All hybrid alfalfa (HybriForce-4400, HybriForce-4420/Wet, HybriForce-3400, HybriForce3430, HybriForce-3420/Wet) will come in the same bag.

With this change, we want to emphasize again how important it is to read the tag or lip of the bag for specific product and tag information.

For dealers, green “CONVENTIONAL” stickers are available to apply to bags prior to delivery. If interested, please contact your Dairyland Seed customer service rep at 1-800-236-0163 to order these stickers.
