Save the Date for the 2024 Product and Agronomy Research Tour

BY Dairyland Seed Agronomy Team

The Wabash, Indiana, Customer Service Center is home to our 30-acre corn and soybean Product and Agronomy Research (PAR) plots to conduct agronomic research. Every year, the Agronomy Team sets their sights on exploring, studying and understanding the space between our products and your operation. The goal of these trials is to provide you valuable information that can assist you with the challenges you face farming today.

Along with “show and tell” presentations, the PAR Plot Tour will also feature the following demonstrations:

  • Soybean Foliar Micro Dissection: Evaluating the addition of various foliar micro-nutrients to increase yield
  • Soybean Foliar Pak: Investigating the use of bio-stimulants to enhance soybean performance
  • Sclerotinia white mold management
  • Corn Foliar Pak: Investigating the use of bio-stimulants to enhance corn performance
  • Corn Fungicide Management Options and Timing: Using various fungicide options for foliar disease control in corn production
  • Corn and Soybean Nutrient Enhancers: Reviewing biological nutrient enhancers in corn and soybean nutrient programs
  • Corn and Soybean Product Showcase: Displaying the newest Dairyland Seed products and expert insights into product placement
  • Showcasing biologicals, bio stimulants, plant growth regulators and nutrient enhancers: Demonstrating the recent advances in one of the hottest topics in agriculture.

  • Managing Aphids in Corn
Corn aphids have been identified in areas of the Dairyland Seed footprint. Aphids are a common pest of corn and related grass crops but rarely cause economic levels of damage. The reproductive habit of aphids allows populations to increase very quickly; however, they can also crash quickly, as aphids are highly susceptible to several natural predators, parasitoids, and pathogens. There are no research-based economic thresholds for insecticide treatments, but applications may be justified in drought stressed or late-planted fields with high and increasing aphid populations.
