Meet the Dairyland Seed Family - Stacy Hendricks

BY Dairyland Seed

Stacy Hendricks, Marketing Assistant, is the point person for all things related to the Dairyland Seed website. She creates print ads for newspapers and magazines, promotional postcards, plot data books, tech sheets, and price cards. Her impressive creative skills and knowledge of design software are an asset in designing the marketing pieces.

December will mark 18 years of employment for Stacy with Dairyland Seed. For three years, while in high school, Stacy worked part-time before joining the team on a full-time basis. Stacy is definitely unique in that Dairyland Seed is the only place she’s ever worked!

Originally hired as a part-time office employee, she assisted in building the Appreciation Banquet folders, filing paperwork and other projects. One memorable project from her early years involved pulling weeds around the building prior to the 95th anniversary celebration. She was thankful it was a one-time task! Her first significant responsibility came in 2003 when she took over the maintenance of the customer database and today still remains the focal point for this task. Before transferring to her current Marketing position, she served as assistant to Peter Van Housen (V.P. of Operations) and John Strachota (V.P. of Quality Assurance).
Stacy says, “I love helping people. If I don’t know the answer or can’t help you out directly, I will do everything I can to find the answer or the right person to help you get what you need.”

Being a very competitive person, she looks forward to any activities where she can strive to win including bowling, volleyball and golf. Stacy is an avid bowler and has been on a bowling league for 30 years. One of her most exciting personal accomplishments came in 2014 when she bowled a 300 game at her local bowling alley – while bowling in the men’s league! Just this past summer, Stacy’s co-ed Friday night volleyball league won the league championship.

A bucket list trip is being planned for her and James to compete in the USBC Open Championships (national bowling tournament open to all sanctioned league bowlers across the country) in either Las Vegas or Reno. This competition will be extremely challenging, but will be worth the experience and memories made with her local group of bowlers.

She appreciates spending time with family and friends, hosting get-togethers at her home or seeking out new experiences. Always willing to help with fund raisers, Stacy supports the corporate fundraising efforts for the United Way. In addition, for the past four years, she’s bowled in a Milwaukee Brewers’ charity event. Each lane is assigned a Milwaukee Brewers player or coach to bowl with and she was able to meet and get pictures taken with several players including Christian Yelich and Josh Hader.

Stacy grew up in Kewaskum, WI, and currently resides in Campbellsport, WI, with her husband James and their two fur baby cats, Chuck Norris and Jack Daniels.

  • Deciding or Choosing a Nitrogen Rate
As we are in or just getting done with many hunting seasons, asking an Agronomist to pick a Nitrogen (N) rate for your corn crop is akin to a asking a hunter what his or her favorite weapon to hunt with is. The answer in both instances is probably “well it depends.” As an Agronomist, before recommending a nitrogen rate, I typically ask several questions. It’s often said that the number of questions I might ask is comparable to the number of inquiries new parents make when consulting a physician about their child. Before suggesting an N rate, I have considered the following background information and questions:
