Gamechangers Coming in 2025: PowerCore® Enlist® and Vorceed® Enlist® Corn
BY Dairyland Seed Marketing Team
Dairyland Seed is excited to introduce a full maturity range of Enlist® corn hybrids featuring PowerCore® and Vorceed® trait technology for the 2025 growing season. The new technology blends superior genetics and innovative trait technology to increase corn yields.
Dairyland Seed’s Marketing Communications Specialist Jake Wolter calls PowerCore® and Vorceed® Enlist® corn game-changers, adding, “These new stacked hybrids will significantly benefit farmers struggling with insect and weed pressure while giving them more management options.”
Vorceed® Enlist® and PowerCore® Enlist® result from extensive research, development, and testing by Corteva Agriscience and Dairyland Seed.
Dairyland Seed’s introduction of PowerCore® Enlist® and Vorceed® Enlist® traits marks a significant leap forward in corn technology. With improved pest and weed management, higher yield potential, and simplified planting strategies, these traits represent the next generation of agricultural innovation, ready to empower farmers in the 2025 growing season and beyond.
PowerCore® Trait Technology – Three Distinct Bt Proteins
PowerCore® Enlist® corn boasts a triple-protein defense system, targeting key pests. This multi-pronged approach reduces the risk of resistance development while ensuring robust insect control.
Additionally, it shares the same herbicide tolerance as Vorceed® Enlist® corn, providing farmers with added convenience and efficiency in weed management.
Ryan Mueller, Dairyland Seed Corn Portfolio and Agronomy Lead, added “PowerCore® will give farmers above-ground insect control and herbicide flexibility with the Enlist® weed control system all in Corteva-exclusive genetics that the Dairyland Seed Agronomy Team hand-selected for our geography.”
Vorceed® Attacks Rootworm
Vorceed® Enlist® corn introduces next-generation corn rootworm protection, combining three modes of action for both above and below-ground insect defense. Utilizing RNAi technology offers a unique solution to suppress specific genes in corn rootworms, leading to their demise upon feeding. This trait also provides multiple modes of action against above-ground lepidopteran pests.
“Vorceed® Enlist® corn products are bringing proven yield to the Dairyland Seed geography. These products are versatile and can be used in both defensive and offensive situations,” Mueller says.
Herbicide-Tolerant Trait Technology
Enlist® corn gives farmers the most advanced herbicide-tolerant trait technology for the ultimate weed management flexibility with tolerance to glyphosate, glufosinate, 2,4-D choline, and FOP herbicides in corn. Enlist® herbicides, like Enlist Duo® and Enlist One®, stay on target and have lower volatility than dicamba and traditional 2,4-D formulations. Enlist® herbicides control late-season emerged broadleaf weeds.
Both traits offer single-bag integrated refuge solutions, meaning you do not need to plant a separate refuge area for insect resistance management.
